Quite reasonably described as "the seventh Struggler" Arthur is credited by Bill as being "the person who taught me how to write songs". Bill and Arthur began their fruitful songwriting partnership in 1979, emerging from their first session with 'Can't Get Back' and 'TV Blues', staples of the Strugglers' repertoire to this day. Arthur lives in Auckland, and if the Strugglers are in town you are likely to find several of them asleep on his floor. The photo taken in Sydney in 1980 shows Arthur with a heavily disguised Bill.
