Founding member of the band who gave it its name (after his previous jug band in Canberra, the Garden City Strugglers) and mission, who has presided over several revivals of the band over the past three decades.  Also a well known solo performer and band leader (Pelicans, Living Daylights and his current vehicle the Laconics), Bill sings, plays guitar, some harmonica and has written a large number of songs, many in tandem with writer Arthur Baysting.
